IT feels like sacrilege putting a compilation of the best Mad Monday outfits from the AFL and NRL silly seasons before Geelong has finished its season.
If any club has earnt a reputation as the king of the costume it's the Cats, but given they’re still at least another week and a half away from downing a couple of beers so we’re going without them.

Generally just dressing up as another sportsman won’t get you too high on this list, but Brett Morris looks so similar to Wayne Rooney he just had to be included.

This Tropics basketball uniform from Semi-Pro has been a go-to Mad Monday costume since the Will Ferrell film was released in 2008 — but has anyone ever worn it better than Majak Daw? Has anyone ever worn anything better than the Kangaroos’ Adonis?
5. MITCH BROWN — ESSENDON
Adam Cooney had some pretty weird and wonderful hairstyles over the journey and Bombers teammate Mitch Brown reminded him of one of his worst. He loses points for going for the Brownlow Medal instead of a shell necklace.
4. JOSH REYNOLDS — CANTERBURY BULLDOGS
Blonde wig? Tick. Zinc cream? Tick. Rotund appearance? Tick. Shine stains? Tick. Josh Reynolds had every area of Shane Warne covered.
3. MASON REDMAN — ESSENDON
Any young player who has the balls to remind his skipper of the lowest moment in his career deserves our respect. Mason Redman’s rendition of Brendon Goddard’s infamous post-Grand Final grimace was savage.
2. BEN BROWN — NORTH MELBOURNE
Anyone who can pull off a better Ronald McDonald than Cameron Ling deserves to be high on this list.

But first place has to go to retiring Bulldogs winger Sam Perrett, who pulled off such a convincing version of The Rock he received a shout out from the man himself.
