In a recent survey conducted by Giacobbe & Asociados, a large portion or Argentines said they would vote for Messi as president.

According to data revealed by Jorge Giacobbe, 43.7 percent of those polled would vote for Messi to sit in the Casa Rosada, while 37.8 percent answered with a no.

Another 17.5 percent said they would consider voting for the PSG striker, and 0.9 percent were undecided or did not answer.

He swept past political figures

Messi outperformed all politicians he competed against in the poll. The PSG striker got 36.7 percent of the vote, followed by Javier Milei with 12.0 percent, Cristina Kirchner with 11.3 percent, Patricia Bulrich obtained 8.8 percent, Mauricio Macri 6.9 percent.

The following candidates had an even lower level of approval: Horacio R. Larreta with 2.9 percent, Facundo Manes 1.8 percent, Sergio Massa 1.4 percent, current president Alberto Fernandez with 1.3 percent and Nicolas del Cano with 0.8 percent.

The decision not to celebrate at the Casa Rosada

Participants also gave their opinion on the Albiceleste's decision not to go to the presidential residence to celebrate the World Cup victory.

A resounding 82.9 percent thought it was right that the players didn't go to the Casa Rosada, 15.8 precent thought it was wrong. The remaining 1.4 percent were undecided or did not answer.

The new Messi

Regarding which player they think will be the next Messi of the Argentine National Team, most of the participants in the survey answered Julian Alvarez.

A few others said Enzo Fernandez, and others indicated that they do not know or that there is no one yet.
